Get answers to common questions about Paraffin Manicure.

Yes for most clients, but we recommend a quick patch test and disclosure of sensitivities. Our technicians use temperature-controlled, fragrance-free wax options and will avoid treatment over cuts, infections, or recent rashes. Consult us if you have severe allergies or skin conditions.

Most paraffin manicures take about 45 minutes when performed as a full service, including cuticle care and polish. As an add-on to an existing manicure it can be completed in 15 to 25 minutes. Timing varies with polish type and customized treatments.

Clients with diabetes or circulation problems should consult their physician before booking. Because reduced sensation and healing issues increase risk, we may need medical clearance. We can offer modified treatments or skip paraffin if your healthcare provider advises against heat therapies.

Paraffin generally won't strip standard polish, but warm wax can soften fresh lacquer and may slightly dull finishes. Gel and shellac typically hold up, though heat can sometimes cause lifting. Tell your technician if you have recent or delicate finishes—we can adapt the process.

For sustained softness, schedule paraffin treatments every two to four weeks depending on skin dryness. Those with chronically dry hands may benefit from weekly sessions initially. It’s an excellent add-on between regular manicures to maintain hydration and improve overall skin texture.

After treatment, keep hands moisturized with a nourishing cream and avoid harsh detergents for 24 hours. Wear cotton gloves overnight for extra absorption and skip hot saunas or intense exfoliation immediately. Reapply lotion daily to prolong paraffin benefits.
